Day 11 and 12

So it is Thanksgiving and I cant think of a better way to spend it with my gone than to section and weld my struts up. I spent the whole day till midnight breaking down everything and sandblasting every rear suspension piece as well as priming and painting most of it.

Then I send from noon till midnight the next day cutting the spring perches off, grinding the welds down, removing 30mm from both the front and backs and welding them back together. I went ahead and did all new bearings as well but I didnt tighten the stub axle nuts for the back because I am still waiting for my rear disc conversion kit to come in. A guy in Arizona that used to supply Datsun Parts LLC sold them to me and the pictures he sent me looked really nice. The brackets look to be the very same type that Big Phil from hybrid z used for his conversion. Heres his video of them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQLcnC-Gg8k

If you didnt notice, I converted to the toyota 4x4 caliper. This shit really bolted right up with no modification or spacers needed. Im using the non vented rotor version. There is another caliper from other toyota trucks that are a little bigger and you can use a vented front rotor from the earlier z31 IIRC. This is the web page I used to do this.
